Various things you should know about Autochthonia:

  • Autochthonian cities see no need to protect the foolish from their own idiocy. As such, they do not have dangerous things walled off or protected, instead opting for large warning signs, brightly colored paint, and sets of warning chimes. Possibly a low railing, if felt absolutely necessary.
  • The streets and most other places humans are likely to be are generally safe from the above hazards, but doing various le parkour runs through a town or the reaches are likely to get a normal person killed. Alchemicals should use the various whirring gears, lightning arcs, clouds of smoke, stamping pistons, etc. as stunt fodder, as per normal rules.
  • The various castes in Autochthonia tend to be in the insular side and often communicate with each other badly. Alchemicals, with their memories of lives which potentially span lots of different castes, are well placed to serve as bridge builders between rival groups.
  • That guy in the factory who empties the trash cans into the recycling chute? Yeah, he belongs to the Harvesters, one of the Five Sodalities, and, thus, he might well out rank the factory foreman.
